Snowman Fun

Emma and Scott built two snowmen with accessories during Lauren's nap.  When she woke up, I bundled her up to join the fun.

Tweet Art

We made a few spring birds with construction paper, feathers, wiggly eyes, and glue. Emma liked to name body parts (eye, beak, foot), shapes (oval, circle), colors (red, yellow, black), and textures (soft, sticky) while we assembled this fine feathered friend.

Swing, Kick, Drink

We had nice weather on several days in early April and jumped at the chance to play at the park. Emma just loved seeing all of the kids and calling out, "Hi, kids!" There are two large soccer fields that give her plenty of room for kicking around her soccer ball. She likes to take an occasional juice break, but quickly returns to her fun.

Windy Days

Here is another batch of early spring photos. Emma really enjoys being outside, going on wagon rides, and playing soccer. It was a bit chilly and windy on this day, but she was bundled up and did a great job of leaving her hat and hood on. The hood helped to keep her ears covered and her hat in place. Otherwise, the wind would take off with it. There were a few wagon rides this spring where I'd hear Emma said, "Oh, no! Hat!" When I would stop pulling and turn around, Emma's hands would be on her head, but her hat would be a few feet behind on the sidewalk. I was pleased with her for letting me know right away. When she was younger, we would lose items and not realize it for blocks. On those occasions, however, Emma was dropping them overboard!

Babes in the Bath

We've been packing in preparation for our big move in less than a month. While gathering items for Scott to take to our storage unit, Emma reunited with her long lost baby bathtub. We were in the process of dressing her for the the day when she noticed the tub and just had to stop and climb in with her friends. Here she is reminiscing on those days with Beth, Amy, Emily, and Pup-Pup. Listen for when she tells her dolls to "sit down" and "sit up." Sweet, funny Emma!

Eggspressions

I just happened upon some pictures from this spring that I had yet to organize and post. I'll share them with you now, but the chronological perfectionist in me will likely adjust the appropriate location a few weeks from now.

Emma and I designed some funky eggs in April. I cut out the pieces in advance and we took turns gluing and pressing them in place. She is proud of her eggspressionist art!

Quack, Waddle, Splash!

The library had a duck-themed family story hour in April. Our opening song was "If You're Happy and You Know it," which Emma loved performing. However, when her friend walked in during the first duck story, Emma lost all interest in the reading and began putting on a "hop, hop" show. (I guess the girls like to hop when they get together on Tuesdays at the library for the weekly toddler story time.) Then we used a glue stick to create a paper duck with paper-chain legs at the craft table, listened to another story, danced the hokey-pokey, and attempted to play a tic-tac-toe game. We also spent some time in the children's department following the event. It was a great morning!

Easter Egg Hunt

Emma enjoyed an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Schultz's house on Easter Sunday. She ran, and ran, and ran all over their yard collecting plastic eggs.

Easter Egg Dying

While at the Schultz's for Easter weekend, we set up an eye-dying station at the kitchen table. Ah, it brought back memories of our childhoods . . . the mismatched coffee mugs, paper ring stands, aroma of vinegar, and vibrant colors. Scott and I stood on either side of our little artist to help control her movements. Eggs . . . dye . . . ceramic mugs . . . flimsy wire dippers . . . Grandma Jill's super clean kitchen . . . a 21-month year old . . . you get the picture.
