Spring Play

We had a few nice days during our Spring Break, which allowed us to get outside. Emma got a Little Tikes "Anchors Away" pirate ship water table for Christmas, so Scott was able to finally put it together. The mast produces a waterfall down the sail and a variety of spinners. It's a great outdoor toy. She also played with her soccer ball, lawn mower, and chalk.

Check out the gear! Tinkerbell slippers, Dora bubble whistle, ISU Redbird mini-football, and Daddio's yellow cap! Emma collected all of these items and created her own uniform!

Order Up!

The theme of Saturday story hour at the public library was "What's Cooking?" We read Walter the Baker by Eric Carle, ate pretzels, sang songs, and made chef hats. For those of you who don't know the story of Walter the baker, Walter was challenged by the Duke to create a pastry from one piece of dough that the sun could shine through three times. Thus, Walter invented the pretzel. Here Chef Emma is whipping us up some grub in her playroom kitchen.

Finger Painting

We ventured into the realm of finger painting this winter. Emma reminds me each time we prepare for the activity, "Don't forget my white paint shirt, Mommy! I don't want to get my clothes dirty." Her favorite thing is to rub her hands in all of the colors and make hand prints.
