The Cat is Completely Out of the Bag

On Friday afternoon Kristen presented her students with a challenge. They were given several academically based clues, which directed their teams to various objects in the room.

For example, “I am a sphere with lines of latitude and longitude. Find me and find one of your mystery words.”

When all of the words were located, they worked together to unscramble the mystery message . . . “MRS. FOLEY IS HAVING A BABY!” Many of them were surprised and excited, but a few had already heard the news through the grapevine. It was so fun to watch their faces as they pieced it all together!

Baby Fact #1 and Update

Did you know? Babies are born with 300 bones (or cartilage). As he grows, some fuse together leaving the 206 bones of an adult skeleton.

We are in week 17 and the little tike is 5 inches long and weighs 5 ounces. We had an appointment on MLK Jr. Day and everything was great! We were able to hear the heartbeat again. So fun!

Joyful Announcement

Kristen finally made the big announcement to her colleagues at school this past Friday. After returning from lunch on an institute day, the teachers were welcomed with trays of sugar cookies decorated with baby bottles, booties, rattles, and chicks. She also set out the framed sonogram and our New Year's card announcement. Everyone was so surprised and excited for us! It was a great feeling to have so many people be truly joyful. Now that it is out in the open, she gets those special smiles from others, and curious eyes naturally gravitate to her mid-section. Later this week she will share the news with her students. Stay tuned!
