Chicks

What other art projects can we make with glue? How about cute baby chicks with yellow feathers. Cheep, cheep!

St. Patrick's Day Art

Emma and I had fun constructing a leprechaun hat and making a tissue paper art shamrock in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Emma will often tell us that she wants to do "art" followed by "goo." She really enjoys the Elmer's glue, probably more than the creations we make.

Fly, Kite, Fly!

"Kites" was the theme of the NPL's story hour this past month. What a hit! Emma thoroughly enjoyed the songs, books, and art project. She was the youngest one in attendance and the most boisterous! She clapped, stomped, and shouted "Hooray!" throughout the entire rendition of "If You're Happy and You Know It." It's one of her favorite songs to perform. In addition to singing songs, Emma loves art. So her eyes lit up when she saw the kite project at the craft tables. When we finished gluing on the decorative pieces, she ran all around the community room laughing and saying, "Fly, fly!"

Love Bug

A red heart, black circles, and glue. Emma is in love. She can expertly "goo" and "pess" the black dots and eyes into place on her bug.

The Royal Castle

Emma likes to play with her princes, princesses, horses, carriage, and castle. Sometimes she'll entertain herself for a few minutes. It's fun to watch her march the "pince" up the stairs to the balcony or bend the legs of her "gorl" so that she can sit in the carriage and be "poosh"ed around the room. In these pictures, she had Prince William and Princess Mia dance before sitting down to a delicious meal. Then Prince William was off for an evening ride on his trusty stag in the countryside.

Emma's ABCs

Thanks to Leapfrog's The Letter Factory, Emma has nearly mastered the sounds of her alphabet! Our friend Heather S. tipped us off to this miraculous video. We couldn't believe how quickly Emma picked up on it! She can work on teaching Mommy her ABCs. Did you notice that I skipped the letter G?
