Perfect Painting

Little girl Foley’s Great Aunt Dixie created an amazing painting for her bedroom. If you look closely, you can see tiny little critters hiding among the flowers. Yupo painting is Great Aunt Dixie’s specialty. You can visit her website to view more "Art by Dixie."

Surprise Shower from the Students

Last Friday my third graders surprised me with a baby shower after lunch. The room mothers had a hand in it, of course, but it was so cute to watch the kids smile and giggle over it. They had cupcakes with pink icing and several gifts for our little one. The kids created the flowers on this picture frame using their thumbprints. What sweet kids and thoughtful parents!

Baby Fact #7 and Update

Did you know? A Russian woman holds the record for having the most children. Between 1725 and 1765, she was pregnant 27 times and had 69 children. Zoinks!

Supergirl is 4+ pounds and 17+ inches now! Her kicks and turns are a little less cute and a little more “ouch” these days. She likes to aim for my bladder.

Scott and I attended a “Prepared Childbirth” class this past weekend and took a tour of the hospital. We learned A LOT and feel better prepared for the big day.

Make Room for Baby

How can an eight-pound being need so much stuff! We will have to have a fashion show every day for her first year of life with all of the clothes she has acquired from friends and family. We are blessed! Look for more nursery pictures . . . coming soon!

Happy Mother's Day

Supergirl sent her Mother’s Day wishes to me via a card that appeared in her crib this morning. Scott said that he heard some rustling in the nursery, and when I went to check it out, I found this sweet card.

Baby Fact #6 and Update

Did you know? Pregnancy is a little longer than 9 months. A full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks or 280 days. Crunch these numbers:

30 days in a month X 9.3 months = 40 weeks

Week 32 is here! Our countdown is at 56 days! We had another good appointment, and will now be visiting the doctor every two weeks. We feel prepared and only have a few things left on our “To Do” list—finalize a pediatrician, settle on health insurance, take the weekend childbirth class, pack a bag, and add little touches to her nursery. If I’ve left anything off, someone please let me know! After all, memory decreases by 15% during pregnancy. I think they say it will return, but I can’t remember at the moment.

Seven-Month Picture

Two months until she arrives! We are getting more and more anxious to formally meet her!
