Butterflies and Books

Scott took Emma to the local book store to support his high school's book club fundraiser.  The students had fun activities for the kids.  Do you even recognize Emma?  She loved the face painting and enjoyed reading her new books--superheroes and Peanuts' Halloween.

Lauren's Baptism

We celebrated Lauren's baptism the first weekend in September, the same day as Grandma Connie and Aunt Stephanie's birthdays!  Hurricane Sandy prevented Uncle Larry, Aunt Missy, and Sydney from flying in, but Uncle Chad, Aunt Steph, and Baby Girl Schultz were able to take part along with other family members.  Lauren's two aunts and two uncles are her Godparents, just as with Emma.  Though it was a bit snug, Lauren wore Emma's christening gown.  (Both girls were baptized at 4 months old.)  During the ceremony, Emma held a special baptismal cloth made by Grandma Connie and handed it to Pastor to dry Lauren's head.  Afterward, extended family gathered at Grammy Jill and Papa Mike's house (now in Bloomington) for a yummy lunch reception.

Exersaucer Time

Now that she is four-months-old, Lauren is ready to explore her exersaucer!  When we brought the contraption up from the basement and began to reassemble it, we discovered the cloth seat was missing.  I searched every baby box multiple times for it.  Neither of us remember removing it to store in a different location.  Scott found a new, unused one--an exact match--on ebay and it arrived in just a few days.  However, as we were searching for a new cloth seat online, we learned that the cake toy attachment had been recalled because the flame could possibly detach.  (I guess that means we didn't send in the product registration 4 years ago.)  So we contacted Evenflo for a replacement, which was delivered in a week.  The exersaucer has three heights, but Lauren is already on level 2, so she's likely to outgrow the exersaucer in about 3 months!
