Candid Shots

Here's Lauren enjoying a bite of ice cream at DQ!

Emma and Lauren were snuggled up on the chair surrounded by Disney Planes figures while watching the DVD.

One night the girls posed in their Planes PJs.

After bath, Lauren and Scott enjoy an episode of Sesame Street.  The gang likes to join them on the couch for the educational entertainment.

Holiday Photo

We attempted a professional family photo in late December with the intention of making Christmas/New Years cards.  After an instant meltdown at the studio, we threw in the towel and gave it a try at home the next day.  Still not much luck.  Scott even bought me a very nice Canon camera since my other was not functioning well.  (Hence, there are no posted pics of Christmas.)  I loved the dresses!

Football Fans

Finally, a picture with Lauren!  The girls were wearing their Bears attire on a game day and willing to stand together in front of the Christmas tree.  Sweet sisters and football fans!

Paper Dolls

While searching the web for two-year-old craft ideas this past winter, I found these wonderful paper dolls at http://www.makingfriends.com/. Emma has a great time looking at the different characters and their attire. We've made both boy and girl paper dolls: princess, firefighter, police officer, soccer player, superhero, cheerleader, cowboy, and dozens more! They have a variety of athletic dolls, multicultural dolls, career dolls, and holiday/seasonal dolls. We printed them on white cardstock, and I quickly learned to cut out the pieces in advance when Emma was asleep.

Easter Emma

Our Easter bunny, Emma, posed like a little lady for this picture. All of the other photos we took on this day are action shots.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

We used two paper plates, black pipe cleaners, construction paper, wiggly eyes, and glue to make a bunny art project the week before Easter. It's a pretty cute rabbit, if I do say so!

Kicking Around

Finally, the nice weather has arrived! This was Emma's first time outdoors to play this spring. We have a difficult time getting her to come in (even when it's time for dinner) on days like this. She loves to kick her Sesame Street ball around the yard and chase bubbles.

Chicks

What other art projects can we make with glue? How about cute baby chicks with yellow feathers. Cheep, cheep!

St. Patrick's Day Art

Emma and I had fun constructing a leprechaun hat and making a tissue paper art shamrock in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Emma will often tell us that she wants to do "art" followed by "goo." She really enjoys the Elmer's glue, probably more than the creations we make.

Fly, Kite, Fly!

"Kites" was the theme of the NPL's story hour this past month. What a hit! Emma thoroughly enjoyed the songs, books, and art project. She was the youngest one in attendance and the most boisterous! She clapped, stomped, and shouted "Hooray!" throughout the entire rendition of "If You're Happy and You Know It." It's one of her favorite songs to perform. In addition to singing songs, Emma loves art. So her eyes lit up when she saw the kite project at the craft tables. When we finished gluing on the decorative pieces, she ran all around the community room laughing and saying, "Fly, fly!"

Love Bug

A red heart, black circles, and glue. Emma is in love. She can expertly "goo" and "pess" the black dots and eyes into place on her bug.
